Pull the switch for 10 seconds, the relay fires current to the glowplugs and hopefully it starts. We don't like this system. Too dangerous - forget to turn off the switch and wait until you see smoke and then you know the components have melted. We tried both and the 5 amp fuse in the boxer blows instantly. Rather than hack about the wiring trying to trace the fault, we want to create a new layout.
An answer like pin 1 to plus and pin 5 to minus is the type of thing we are looking for. We already know which of the large terminals to feed direct to battery and glowplugs. Thanks in advance. Some of the fancier ones also had a temperature sensor. Basically just a beefy relay and a timer in a box. Been years since I last saw one, but imagine they might still turn up on ebay etc Another solution that removes the worry about leaving the current setup might be to simply replace the switch with a momentary push button?

These are in the plug. Posted 25 November - PM Ok, stand corrected.Relay Panel Wiring Diagram — wiring diagram is a simplified okay pictorial representation of an electrical circuit.
It shows the components of the circuit as simplified shapes, and the capability and signal associates in the middle of the devices. A wiring diagram usually gives opinion nearly the relative face and pact of devices and terminals upon the devices, to urge on in building or servicing the device.
A pictorial diagram would play a role more detail of the creature appearance, whereas a wiring diagram uses a more figurative notation to play up interconnections over instinctive appearance. A wiring diagram is often used to troubleshoot problems and to make distinct that every the contacts have been made and that everything is present.
Architectural wiring diagrams decree the approximate locations and interconnections of receptacles, lighting, and unshakable electrical facilities in a building. Interconnecting wire routes may be shown approximately, where particular receptacles or fixtures must be on a common circuit. Wiring diagrams use okay symbols for wiring devices, usually swap from those used on schematic diagrams. The electrical symbols not and no-one else work where something is to be installed, but also what type of device is monster installed.
For example, a surface ceiling buoyant is shown by one symbol, a recessed ceiling vivacious has a alternative symbol, and a surface fluorescent light has different symbol. Each type of switch has a alternative story and as a result do the various outlets.
